Commonly explained as a mix of tennis, squash and chess, Real Tennis is an exciting and challenging sport which gets people hooked. The original racquet sport, from which modern day lawn tennis is descended, Real Tennis is still played on about 43 survivng courts in the UK, Australia, USA and France. We, at Exeter, are lucky enough to have the opportunity to play at a local court and on many of those courts in the UK (and even in France).

The recent trip to Fontainebleau, Paris was a huge success story for the club. 16 members travelled to play in the world famous court at the Royal Chateau de Fontainebleau and enjoyed the delights of rural France along the way. Some members were able to visit the prestigous Rolland Garros to watch the French Open, whilst others visited some of Paris' top tourist attractions. Returning home every evening to the huge french farm house that acted as club accommodation, I think it is fair to say that everyone who went on the trip enjoyed the dining and socialising that concluded every day. We are already looking forward to Fontainebleau 2015!
